The study participants also exercised and ate a balanced diet in addition to adding just two tablespoons of coconut oil to their daily routines.
The study concluded that: “It appears that dietetic supplementation with coconut oil does not cause dyslipidemia and seems to promote a reduction in abdominal obesity.” The fact that coconut oil seems to lower cholesterol is among other points discussed in the “Medical Daily” article.
Coconut oil aides in proper hormone function, which in turn, helps support healthy thyroid function. Abnormal function has been associated with higher cholesterol.
