Bush to Nation: Half of all AIDS cases occur among African Americans

by Liam Scheff

“Half of all AIDS cases occur among African Americans…We will also lead a nationwide effort, working closely with African American churches and faith-based groups, to deliver rapid HIV tests to millions“ – George W. Bush, State of the Union 1/31/2006

Air America’s Randi Rhodes went apeshit on her Wednesday (2/1/06) show about the inherent racism demonstrated in President George Bush’s “State of the Union” address on Tuesday.

“Bush went straight from Katrina to HIV/AIDS,” she said. She asked the audience if they could believe what she described as the incredible racism of the overt connection of the Black community with AIDS.

Well, yeah.

But that’s the whole paradigm. That’s what it is. That’s why I write about it.

Bush might be racist, but he didn’t invent this racism. He’s just following the CDC. Besides, AIDS, as in HIV test the Black, Gay and Poor, is the ‘Liberal’ agenda

Are You Positive You’re Not Positive? – We ask our young, healthy African American women , and men

You want to end AIDS? You won’t get there by deploying rapid tests into the poor black communities.

  • An AIDS diagnosis? Not so easy. You’re drugged for life, till death . That’s the deal we make with the Gay and Black communities in this country and the world

Journalist Janine Roberts has just posted a pre-publication copy of a book on the making of the AIDS diagnosis, and the errors that were made, covered up, and compounded. Part one – HIVGate | Part two – AIDSGate

(_Roberts is investigator/author of_ Glitter and Greed her breakout investigation of child slave labor and the diamond trade, disinfo 2003)

So, AIDS and racism? What can I say that the man didn’t?

Kudos to Bush for grabbing the zeitgeist and making absolutely clear what it actually is.

(Now if ‘Liberals’ will only be offended enough to look deeper into the paradigm…) Deeper looks can be found in a variety of places: Altheal.org | aras.ab.ca | peaceandlove.ca |

From the State of the Union 2006

“In New Orleans and in other places, many of our fellow citizens have felt excluded from the promise of our country. The answer is not only temporary relief, but schools that teach every child, and job skills that bring upward mobility, and more opportunities to own a home and start a business. As we recover from a disaster, let us also work for the day when all Americans are protected by justice, equal in hope, and rich in opportunity.”

(Applause.)

“A hopeful society acts boldly to fight diseases like HIV/AIDS, which can be prevented, and treated, and defeated. More than a million Americans live with HIV, and half of all AIDS cases occur among African Americans. I ask Congress to reform and reauthorize the Ryan White Act, and provide new funding to states, so we end the waiting lists for AIDS medicines in America.”

(Applause.)

“We will also lead a nationwide effort, working closely with African American churches and faith-based groups, to deliver rapid HIV tests to millions, end the stigma of AIDS, and come closer to the day when there are no new infections in America.”

(Applause.)

h2. THE CAMBRIDGE BIOTECH HIV-1 WESTERN BLOT KIT

“Accurate diagnosis of HIV-1 infection is important in determining an individual’s risk for developing AIDS. Accuracy is complicated by false-positive and false-negative (EIA) results. It
would appear that in some limited infections, a compartmentalized response occurs in which
expression of HIV-1 or its respective Immune response is limited to a restricted number of organs
and tissues.(17)”

“Slight ambiguities exist in the designation of the molecular weights of the HIV-I antigens. The designations listed in Figure 1 have been established by both internal testing with known markers and consensus of published literature.(5-10)”

Testing for a protein/virus by…..consensus of various points of view….anyone? Anyone? Do I hear a “Bullshit?” Anyone?

“Although a blot POSITIVE for antibodies to HIV-1 indicates infection with the virus…”
POSITIVE blot results using any specimen type (serum, plasma, or urine) should be followed with additional testing. Such testing may rely on alternative test methods or specimen types.

The clinical implications of antibodies to HIV-1 in an asymptomatic person are not known.”

[You test postive, but you don’t have the symptoms we say you should have – You’re not positive.]

The sensitivity … using urine was evaluated by comparing the urine results to the results obtained from testing paired serum specimens collected from individuals who were HIV-1 seropositive and from individuals clinically diagnosed as AIDS patients.”
